Tour description
Your trip starts in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, where you visit the Village Museum and the Palace of the Parliament, the second largest administrative building in the world. From Bucharest you drive to Comana, a protected area where you can find a micro-delta. Your journey continues towards Sibiu. The next day you reach the Retezat-Godeanu Park, the first national park in Romania. You head to Brasov. Here you have the opportunity to visit the Black Church. Over the Carpathians, you arrive to the Bran Castle, the residence of Count Dracula. Zarnesti, Piatra Craiului, Plaiul Foii and Moeciu are some of the highlights of this trip, included on your schedule. The next day you leave the Carpathians and reach Tulcea, the Gate of the Danube Delta and the final goal of your trip.

The guide welcomes you at the airport in Bucharest. You drive towards the center of Bucharest, where you start the city tour. Today you visit the Village Museum, where you can admire typical peasant houses from all Romanian regions. The Palace of the Parliament is the second largest administrative building in the world after the Pentagon. It is also called “the People’s House”. Another important object of interest is the Patriarchal Church built in the 16th century. Dinner at a local restaurant.
Discover the virgin natural paradise from Comana. Here you can find an ancient forest and a micro delta. There is also a bird watch planned for today. In this area, the ruler Vlad Tepes, better known as Dracula, built a lovely monastery that you have to visit. Drive to Sibiu.
In the morning, you visit the first Romanian national park, opened in 1935. The protected area of Retezat contains many unique natural monuments, like a great number of glacial lakes. Therefore it is protected by the UNESCO. The national park is the home of several wild animals, like brown bears, wolves, lynx, red foxes and wild cats. A hike in the beech, spruce and pine forests is also organized for you, during which you can watch the birds and the animals. In the afternoon you start a city tour of Sibiu, during which you can discover the old city center. You visit its most important buildings and squares such as the Small and the Big Square or the Liar’s Bridge. The Evangelical Church is also one of the main attractions.
In the morning you drive to Brasov, another very well preserved medieval city. In the city center you visit the Black Church, the Old City Hall and the Orthodox Church. You drive towards the Carpathians and reach to the Bran Castle, a legacy from the Transylvanian Saxons. It is also known as the Dracula’s Castle. In the evening you are invited at a festive dinner, where you can enjoy a folklore show.
Right after breakfast, you drive to the Brown Bears Sanctuary in Zarnesti. From this point you start a hike through the gorges from Piatra Craiului. Drive to Plaiul Foii, where you can discover some breathtaking landscapes. Also you can watch the birds and the animals living there. The bus picks you up and drives you to Moeciu, where a ride in a horse-drawn carriage is ready for you.
Today you leave the Carpathians heading towards the small paradise called the Danube Delta. Scenic drive through the Macin Mountains, the oldest mountains in Europe. In the evening you reach Tulcea, the gate of the Danube Delta.
In Tulcea you navigate on small boats and you drive towards the heart of the Danube Delta. Here you can find more than 300 bird species like pelicans, cormorants, bee-eaters, stilts and many others. A lot of poplars, willows and sea water lilies can be seen during the trip. Be enchanted by the beauty of this wild nature and the richness of this unique ecosystem. You will also learn more about the flora and fauna, population and legends of the Danube Delta.
